Hiring Process

Thanks for your interest in applying to work for Tend! Below is the outline of our hiring process and what we're looking for in our prospective Tenders. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.

Personality

Tenders come in all flavors, but all of them share two key traits: a relentlessly positive attitude, and the patience to deal with the most demanding customers.

Adaptability

Anyone can do a good job when everything goes according to plan. What sets Tenders apart is their ability to overcome adversity and deliver quality service.

Reliability

Our customers use Tend because it gives them peace of mind. If we fail to deliver that, we will fail as a company. Early is on-time, on-time is late, and late is unacceptable.

Step 1: Resume Screen

We have strict prerequisites for prospective Tend bartenders and servers. First, you must have more than 2 years of relevant work experience (restaurant, bar, hotel, catering), be TIPS / FOODSAFE Certified, and have two professional references.

Step 2: Phone Screen

Next, we schedule a phone interview with you to better understand how you fit our three core Tender characteristics: personality, ability, and reliability.

Step 3: Reference Calls

After the phone screen, we will call your two references provided in your application. Your references must be either a previous manager or co-worker who worked closely alongside you.

Step 4: In-Person Interview

Next, you will schedule an in-person interview with us, where you must dress in work attire, arrive 15 minutes early, and bring all necessary materials to pour drinks (for bartenders).

Step 5: Accepted & Onboarded

If you are confirmed after all of the above steps, we will then send you the Tend Welcome Handbook, and receive a tutorial on how to use our app to book events. We look forward to working with you!
